KOSMOS Car Rental Crete Company Terms
Age
Drivers must be a minimum of:
- 21 years of age for car categories Small Economy and Small Economy Diesel
- 23 years of age for all other categories
- The maximum rental age is 75 years
Driver's License
Drivers must have held a valid license for at least one (1) year.
National Driving Licenses issued in EU, US, UK, Switzerland, Australia, Canada, Israel, Russia and Ukraine are accepted.
In all the other countries an International Driving License is required.

Traffic Violations, Traffic fines and Administrative Sanctions
Traffic & Parking Fines and consequential administration penalties resulting
from violations of the driving code are paid by the renter.
Mileage
Unlimited mileage is included in our rates.
Taxes
V.A.T (Value Added Tax) 24% is included in our rates.
Additional Drivers
One (1) additional driver can be registered without any additional charge.
Roadside Assistance
Roadside Assistance is free of charge and available 24/7.
It is recommended to contact our office directly in the event of required roadside assistance.

Selection of particular car brand or model
Bookings are subject to a specific car group, which includes different car
models with similar features. Υou must be prepared to collect any of the
vehicles within a category.
In case you have a confirmed reservation for a specific car group and there is not any available car from this category, we reserve the right to deliver a vehicle of bigger category without extra charge (free upgrade).

Car Replacement
In case of an accident - breakdown resulting in the immobilization of the
vehicle, your car will be replaced with another one within 24 hours.
Our company has the right to investigate the causes of the accident - breakdown and deny the replacement of the car if the use of the car violates our terms and conditions.

Child Seats
We offer 3 different types of child seats (Infant Seat (0-1 years old),
Baby seat(1-4 years old), Booster seat (4-8 years old)) free of Charge.

No additional charges on flight delays at working hours (08:00 to 21:00)

Road Map, GPS Navigator, Mobile Wifi Router
Upon delivery, you will receive a recent map of the Crete Island free of
charge.

Daily rate: 5,00 Euro
The customer is liable for misplacing or damaging the GPS unit/mount to a maximum charge of €100.
Mobile Wifi Router: Daily rate: 8,00 Euro.

Fuel Policy
The renter has to return the vehicle with the same level of petrol as delivered.
Key Loss
All our cars keys are chip-coded and the replacement of them is costly and
timely.
The customer is liable for all costs to replace keys which have been lost or damaged and the cost of retrieval of keys which have been locked inside a vehicle.

Tyres Damages
Tyres damages are not covered by the insurance.
Delivery & Collection of vehicles
You can pick up (deliver/collect) vehicles from all supported locations in our
booking engine, including airports, ports and selected hotels.
After-hours deliveries (21:00 - 08:00) are subject to a €20 charge payable on arrival in cash.

Vehicle transport outside Crete
The car is not allowed to be transported to and from any other island or
mainland.
The insurances cease to be valid and the renter will be responsible for any damage caused if the vehicle is driven elsewhere outside Crete.

One Way Rentals
All cars available for one-way rentals, provided that such arrangement is
made at the commencement of the rental and confirmed on the rental
agreement.
Cancellation Policy:
If you choose to cancel a reservation 7 days prior to the rental pick up time,
we will refund the deposit paid for the booking amount.
Once cancelled, we will credit you within approximately 7 business days.
Credits will be applied to the same card with which you prepaid.

Cancel within 7 days prior to pick up time
If you cancel less than 7 days before your pick-up time the deposit will not be
refunded. If you decide to return the car earlier than the rental end stated at
the rental agreement, we do not give any refund for unused days.
Rental Extension
If you have already picked up your vehicle and wish to keep it longer, you
must contact our company and check if the car is available. We have the right
to deny the extension of the rental if the car is already booked. Over 3 hours
delay, one day rate will be charged.
Please note that a customer is not allowed to bring the car later than the agreed return time without having taken permission (having extended the rental) from our company since there is not any insurance coverage after the return time of the car.

Accident
In case of an accident, the renter must contact our company immediately.
You are not allowed to leave the incident place without reporting the
accident.
If the renter fails to provide the report to our company, then he is obliged to pay for repairing costs of any damage caused to the rental vehicle.

Use of Car
All insurance coverings & waivers are valid provided that the renter has
complied with all terms & conditions.
The renter is obliged to inspect the vehicle and report any damage to our office, as soon as possible without moving the car, in order to provide all information and photos necessary for the submission of the incident’s full description.

No insurance coverage shall apply to:
- Damages caused when the vehicle is operated on any unauthorized road, non- asphalt road, dirt road or off-road (eg. Balos).
- Damages caused when the renter violates traffic rules (eg. road/STOP signs, speed limits, road direction, U-turns, illegal overpassing, double line overpassing).
- Damages caused when the renter is distracted, misjudges his course and goes out of the road.
- Damages caused when the renter violates parking rules. Damages caused when the vehicle is driven by any person disqualified from holding a driver’s license appropriate for that vehicle or is not a registered driver in the rental agreement.
- Damages caused when the driver of the vehicle is under alcohol or drug influence.
- Damages caused when the vehicle is willfully or recklessly used by the renter (eg damages caused to doors/body of the car by the wind, damages to clutch/gearbox, damages to the vehicle interior, damages caused by animals, damages caused by sitting/standing on the bonnet/boot/roof of the vehicle or any damage caused due to driver negligence).
Insurance Policy
In the event of damage or theft to the car, you are not required to pay any
excess as long as the use of the car is according to terms & conditions . At
rental pick-up no credit card deposit is required and you will not be asked to
pay extra for additional insurances.
CDW - Collision damage waiver with ZERO EXCESS
Customer is fully relieved from the responsibility of any damage to the
Company's vehicle due to an accident.
Wheels & Underside Insurance with ZERO EXCESS
No responsibility is claimed from the renter in case the rental car's wheels
and/or underside parts have been damaged due to an accident. Note: Wheels
& Underside Insurance is not valid in case of off road and negligent driving.
Glasses & Windows Insurance with ZERO EXCESS
No responsibility is claimed from the renter in case the rental car's glasses
and/or windows have been damaged due to an accident and/or a theft
attempt.
TP - Theft Protection with ZERO EXCESS
No responsibility is claimed from the renter in case the rental car is stolen.
Any stolen personal items of the renter are not covered.
Note: Theft Protection (T.P.) is not valid in case of renter’s negligence or culpability e.g. car keys left in car’s ignition.

Third Party Insurance
Covers third parties in case of death and body injuries up to 1.000.000 Euro
and material damages to third parties property up to 1.000.000 Euro.
Personal Accident Insurance -Driver & Each Passenger
Covers the renter/driver of the Kosmos rental car and each Passenger
for Death / Total Disability / Partial Disability.
